Camera USA 2020/2021

Updated: Jun 17, 2021

After much delay, Camera USA 2020 is finally happening at Naples ART. Postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, 2900 is being exhibited from April 15th to June 1st, 2021. Rich Candace, their fundraising events manager, has been very kind to send me a picture of it up on the wall.

“Camera USA National Photography Exhibition and Award is an annual juried exhibition and competition designed to inspire and encourage photographers of all skill levels to submit one photograph taken in the United States within the past five years.

Now in its tenth edition, this survey includes photographers from across the country whose work explores a wide array of compositional styles and subjects and is inspired by personal experiences and emotions. Ranging from portraits to landscapes, still lifes to street scenes, textures to architectural details, the photographs in this exhibition address a vast range of thematic perspectives and convey the exceptional qualities of human expression, common things, or the graphic arrangement of natural elements.

A panel of three professional jurors considered 279 submission and invited 74 photographers to participate in the survey, naming five honorable mentions and one best in show.

Camera USA reflects the distinctive vision of America’s aspiring and professional photographers and celebrates the universal aspects of the human experience.”
